Mephiboshet was born a royal, he was next in line to be king after his father but along the line something went wrong that disadvantage him from becoming king. There was war between Israel and the Philistines and his father and grandfather were killed. He was not born lame but he lost his two legs as a child and became lame.
Now 2 Samuel 4:4
And Jonathan, Saul’s son had a son that was lame of his feet.He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel and his nurse took him up and fled,and it came to pass as she made haste to flee, that he fell and became lame.And his name Mephiboshet.
He was destined to be king and to sit on the king’s table, to live and enjoy the benefits of a royal.But something stronger than him was fighting him not to come into God’s original and master plan for his life. He was cut off of his inheritance and royal privilege and hidden away where no one could remember him
Everything thing was working against him until the day God remembered him. You may be going through a lot now, forgotten and forsaken by men but this is your day that You will be remembered by God. Let’s go into the book of 2 Samuel 9:1-9. And David said, Is there yet any that is left of a house of Saul that I may she’s him kindness for Jonathan’s sake. 2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the King said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he. 3 And the king said,Is there not yet any of the house of Saul that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king.Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet. 4 And the king said unto him where is he? And Ziba said unto the king. Behold he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel in Lodebar.
5 Then King David sent and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel from Lodebar. 6 Now when Mephiboshet the son of Saul, was come unto David he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said Mephiboshet. And he answered, behold thy servant.7 And David said unto him, Fear not for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father and thou shalt eat of bread at my table continually. 8 And he bowed himself and said. What is thy servant that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am? 9 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant and said unto him,I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
Mephiboshet was not only forgotten but he was kept in a lonely place in someone house in a place called Lodebar. The word Lodebar means no pasture, no word or no communication. Mephiboshet was kept out of the world of men without pasture, no word and no communication. He was kept incommunicado. He was left to die but God remembered him. You may have been left to die, cut off from God’s original plan for you, I say to you today God will remember you. It was bad for him but God remembered Mephiboshet and David asked if there is any one yet alive in the house of Saul so that he will show him God’s kindness. Ziba the servant of Saul was brought in to David and that day Mephiboshet life took a turn for great change.
I speak into your life today that the man God will use bring you out of pain, lack, disgrace and shame, out of your Lodebar for your change for the king to show you kindness will appear in the name of Jesus. From Lodebar the place of no word. Word came to Mephiboshet and his life changed. God’s word will come for you today and every thing about you will change for good. Mephiboshet came before David and the King said to him he will show him kindness for his father Jonathan’s sake and all the land and wealth of Saul was restored to Mephiboshet.
He was also called to eat on the king’s table continually. That is all the days of his life. On the day God remembered Mephiboshet he became a multi millionaire. His lameness and limitations could not stop him coming into God’s original destiny for him. All he lost was restored to him in one day. I speak restoration of all your have lost back to you because your past will not limit you for your day of God’s remembrance has come.
When Mephiboshet was in isolation the devil and the enemy thought it was over for him but in his isolation God preserved him and made David to remember him and he was exempted from been killed amongst the the sons of Saul at the request of the Gibeonite because God remembered him before the hanging of the sons of Saul. Today because God has remembered you whatever the enemy has ahead for by divine remembrance you are exempted in Jesus name.Lastly live not only for yourself but for your children and grandchildren.
Mephiboshet was shown kindness because of Jonathan his father. Receive God’s kindness today
